Wyatt Flores Unveils Track "Stillwater - Live At Cain's Ballroom" as Part of New Live Album
Wyatt Flores, the rising country music star from Stillwater, Oklahoma, has released "Stillwater - Live At Cain's Ballroom" as part of his first live album, "Live At Cain's Ballroom," which dropped on February 14, 2025, via Island Records. This live recording showcases Flores' powerful vocals and the dynamic energy of his performances, captured during his sold-out shows at the historic Tulsa venue in December 2024.
The release of "Live At Cain's Ballroom" follows Flores' successful debut studio album, "Welcome to the Plains," which was released on October 18, 2024. Produced by Beau Bedford, known for his work with Orville Peck and Shane Smith & The Saints, the album delves into Flores' personal experiences, balancing his small-town roots with the challenges of life on the road.
The live version of "Stillwater" is one of 18 tracks featured on the album, which spans Flores' growing catalog and includes a special cover of Turnpike Troubadours' "Ringing In The Year". Flores, born on June 29, 2001, has quickly made a name for himself in the country music scene with his authentic songwriting and captivating live performances.
Flores' musical journey began in his hometown of Stillwater, where he was surrounded by a rich musical heritage. His father, a former drummer in a local band, and his uncle, who played alongside members of the red dirt group The Great Divide, were significant influences on his early musical development. Flores cites Evan Felker and the Turnpike Troubadours as major inspirations for his songwriting style.
Flores' career has seen a meteoric rise since the release of his breakout single "Please Don't Go" in 2022, which has accumulated over 184M streams on Spotify alone. He has since released several EPs, including "The Hutson Sessions" (2022), "Life Lessons" (2023), and "Half Life" (2024). His music has garnered critical acclaim, with Flores being recognized as one of Rolling Stone's 25 "Future of Music" artists and receiving a nomination for Emerging Act of the Year at the 2024 Americana Honors & Awards.
The live album "Live At Cain's Ballroom" not only showcases Flores' growth as an artist but also highlights the chemistry between him and his band. Flores himself has noted the difference between studio recordings and live performances, stating, "Our entire band, just from what you hear on the record to what we do live, it's so different. And the little things that we add into [our live shows], it's magic".
