Ty Myers Releases "Drunk Love" as Lead Single from Debut Album "The Select"
Ty Myers, the 17-year-old country music sensation from Dripping Springs, Texas, is set to release his latest single "Drunk Love" on January 10, 2025, as part of his highly anticipated debut album "The Select". The album, scheduled for release on January 24, 2025, through RECORDS Nashville/Columbia Records, marks a significant milestone in Myers' rapidly ascending career.
"Drunk Love" is described as an intoxicating tune with brutally honest lyrics and a sweeping soundscape. The song explores themes of romantic disillusionment, with Myers singing in the chorus, "I'm tired of drunk love / You can only feel the lust when your body's numb / Another one leads to keepin' the lights on / Close all decisions you regret when the sun comes up". This track joins previously released offerings like "Ends of the Earth," "Worry Is A Sickness," "Let 'Em Talk," and "Can't Hold Me Down" on the 16-track project.
Myers' musical journey began at an early age on his family's cattle ranch in Texas. He started singing before he could walk and picked up the guitar at age 8, beginning to write songs. His father, a singer-songwriter in dance halls and bars, significantly influenced his early musical development. Myers' unique sound blends traditional country with elements of blues and soul, drawing inspiration from artists like John Mayer, Anderson East, and Bill Withers.
The young artist's rise to prominence has been meteoric. In March 2023, Myers released his first independent song, "Tie That Binds," which quickly garnered over 1 million streams. His subsequent releases, including "Drinkin' Alone" and "But Me," have continued to build his fanbase, with his music accumulating tens of millions of streams across platforms.
"The Select," produced by Brandon Hood, features Myers' recent explosive singles that have not only propelled his sold-out headline tour but have also solidified his place in the industry as an artist to watch. Myers has already shared the stage with country music legends like Willie Nelson and Wade Bowen, as well as contemporary stars like Randy Rogers Band and Cody Johnson.
As Myers prepares for the release of "The Select," he is also gearing up for his upcoming tour of the same name. The tour kicks off on January 16, 2025, in Cedar Park, Texas, and will see him perform at iconic venues across the country, including New Braunfels' Gruene Hall and New York City's Bowery Ballroom.
