Timothy Wayne Releases Energetic Cover of "Louisiana Saturday Night"
Timothy Wayne, a rising country artist from Franklin, Tennessee, released his cover of the classic country hit "Louisiana Saturday Night" on December 13, 2024, through UMG Nashville. This release follows Wayne's "Guy With A Guitar" and major label debut single "God Made A Country Boy," which dropped earlier this year.
"Louisiana Saturday Night" was originally written by Bob McDill and first recorded by Don Williams in 1977. However, it gained widespread popularity when Mel McDaniel released his version in March 1981 as the third single from his album "I'm Countryfied." McDaniel's rendition reached #7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.
Wayne's cover of "Louisiana Saturday Night" showcases his ability to blend traditional country sounds with a modern flair, with his stated goal of creating music that combines the traditional country sound of artists like George Strait and Randy Travis with more contemporary influences.
In addition to "Louisiana Saturday Night" and previous singles, Wayne has been working on his first project, drawing inspiration from a range of country artists including Waylon Jennings, Dierks Bentley, and his uncle, Tim McGraw.
Wayne has also been gaining live performance experience, opening for McGraw on the Standing Room Only Tour, marking his first major tour experience.
