The War And Treaty Release Single "Carried Away" Ahead of New Album "Plus One"
The War And Treaty announced their fourth full-length album "Plus One," set for release on February 14, 2025, via Mercury Nashville, with "Carried Away" serving as the lead single. The 18-track album was primarily produced by Michael Trotter and recorded at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
The album represents a collaborative effort, featuring production work from Jonathan Singleton (known for Luke Combs, Chase Rice), John Shanks (Stevie Nicks, Sheryl Crow), and Jesse Frasure (Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini). The duo created a distinctive sound that incorporates elements of gospel, bluegrass, country, soul, symphonic pop, and folk-rock.
"We see this record as an open invitation to be a part of what we're doing—it came from wanting to be the hope we believe people need right now, as well as the hope that we need for ourselves," explains Tanya Trotter. Michael Trotter adds, "One of our main intentions with this album is to inspire people to share themselves with others, and open themselves up to the possibility of being loved."
The Plus One Tour begins March 26, 2025, in Minneapolis and concludes June 19 in Bristol, Tennessee. The extensive tour includes performances at notable venues such as Irving Plaza in New York City, The Howard Theatre in Washington D.C., and The Troubadour in Los Angeles. The duo will also appear at festivals including MerleFest and the High Water Music Festival.
The War And Treaty's previous album "Lover's Game" earned them two Grammy nominations: Best American Roots Song for "Blank Page" and Best New Artist. They have performed with notable artists including Chris Stapleton and Zach Bryan, and recently secured an opening slot with The Rolling Stones.
