The Red Clay Strays Release "Live AF from Callaghan's" EP Featuring "Wanna Be Loved"

The Red Clay Strays, a country-rock band hailing from Mobile, Alabama, have continued their ascent in the music industry with the release of their new EP "The Red Clay Strays Live AF from Callaghan's" on January 31, 2025. This live EP, released through RCA Records and HBYCO, features four songs captured during a performance at Callaghan's, showcasing the band's electric live energy.

The EP includes a live rendition of "Wanna Be Loved," one of the standout tracks from their 2024 album "Made by These Moments". This album, produced by Grammy Award-winning Dave Cobb, marked a significant milestone for the band, blending their signature sound of electric rock and roll with southern soul.

Other tracks on the new live EP include, "Devil in My Ear," "No One Else Like Me" and "Drowning."

The Red Clay Strays, formed in 2016, consist of Brandon Coleman (lead vocals, guitar), Drew Nix (guitar and vocals), Zach Rishel (guitar), Andrew Bishop (bass), and John Hall (drums). Their musical journey began as a cover band, with Coleman, Bishop, and Nix at the core, before evolving into their current lineup and developing their unique sound.

The band's sound is deeply rooted in the traditions of southern music, drawing inspiration from classic country, rockabilly, and gospel-fed soul. Their influences range from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Sturgill Simpson, contributing to their distinctive blend of genres.

The band's rise to prominence accelerated with their self-released debut album "Moment of Truth" in 2022, which included the viral hit "Wondering Why". This success led to their signing with RCA Records and the subsequent release of "Made by These Moments" in 2024.

As of late 2024, The Red Clay Strays were nominated for Vocal Group of the Year at the 58th Annual CMA Awards and won Emerging Act of the Year at the 2024 Americana Music Association Honors & Awards. Their growing popularity is evident in their sold-out headline shows and upcoming tours, including dates in Australia and Canada scheduled for 2025.
