Old Dominion Releases Latest Single "Making Good Time"
Old Dominion, the acclaimed country music band formed in Nashville, Tennessee, has kicked off 2025 with the release of their latest single, "Making Good Time," which debuted on February 7, 2025. This release follows their successful 2024 compilation album, "Odies But Goodies," which showcased their greatest hits and fan favorites from throughout their career.
"Making Good Time" exemplifies Old Dominion's signature style, blending nostalgia with an infectious melody. The release of "Making Good Time" coincided with the conclusion of Old Dominion's "7 for 7" residency at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, with the band stating “after an amazing week at The Ryman, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate,” than with “Making Good Time.” This series of seven shows over four days was not only a celebration of their seven consecutive CMA Awards for Vocal Group of the Year but also a philanthropic endeavor. The band successfully raised $1.25 million for various charities during this residency.
Old Dominion's musical journey has been marked by consistent success. They have released several full-length albums and EPs since their debut. Their self-titled EP in 2014 paved the way for their breakthrough debut studio album, "Meat and Candy," released in 2015 on RCA Records Nashville. This album included hit singles like "Break Up with Him" and "Snapback," which helped establish their presence in the country music landscape.
The band's ability to craft catchy melodies and relatable lyrics has led to nine No. 1 singles on the country charts, over five billion on-demand streams, and multiple platinum and gold certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America.
