Muscadine Bloodline Unveils Latest Single "Chickasaw Church of Christ" Ahead of Upcoming Album
Muscadine Bloodline, the Nashville-based country duo consisting of Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton, has unveiled their latest single, "Chickasaw Church of Christ," a compelling addition to their forthcoming fifth studio album, "...And What Was Left Behind." Released on February 14, 2025, the track masterfully weaves together themes of love and farewell, chronicling the intimate final moments between two hearts.
The song showcases the duo's ability to craft emotionally resonant narratives, drawing from their Southern roots. Stanton, who penned the lyrics, describes it as "somehow a love song and a breakup song at the same time," highlighting the raw emotions packed into the three-minute story. The stripped-back acoustic arrangement harkens back to Muscadine Bloodline's early days, allowing the poignant lyrics to take center stage.
"...And What Was Left Behind" is set to release on April 11, 2025, via Stancaster Music and Thirty Tigers. This album serves as a companion piece to their 2024 release, "The Coastal Plain," continuing to explore stories inspired by the duo's Alabama upbringing. The new record, produced by Muncaster and Stanton alongside longtime collaborator Ryan Youmans, will feature 11 tracks, including the previously released "Ain't For Sale" featuring Josh Meloy.
Muscadine Bloodline's journey began in Mobile, Alabama, where Muncaster and Stanton grew up separately before crossing paths in 2012. They officially formed the duo in 2015, naming themselves after the muscadine grapes that grow in the South and their shared heritage. Their music blends country with Southern rock influences, creating a sound they describe as "traditional country with an indie rock edge".
The duo has steadily built their career as independent artists, charting three albums and selling out shows across the country. Their 2016 single "Porch Swing Angel" has been certified platinum, while other tracks like "Pieces" featuring Lainey Wilson and "Me On You" have achieved gold status. In 2024, they made their country radio debut with the single "10-90," marking a significant milestone in their career.
As Muscadine Bloodline continues to evolve, they remain committed to authenticity in their songwriting and production. The release of "Chickasaw Church of Christ" and the upcoming album "...And What Was Left Behind" demonstrate their dedication to crafting music that resonates with their roots while pushing their artistic boundaries.
