Muscadine Bloodline Releases "Way Too High (2010)" Ahead of Upcoming Album "...And What Was Left Behind"
Muscadine Bloodline, the independent country duo consisting of Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton, has unveiled their latest single, "Way Too High (2010)", on March 18, 2025. This nostalgic track serves as a preview of their upcoming fifth studio album, "...And What Was Left Behind," set to release on April 11, 2025, via Stancaster Music and Thirty Tigers.
The new song showcases Muscadine Bloodline's signature storytelling style, with lyrics that reminisce about their high school days in Mobile, Alabama. Written by Gary Stanton, "Way Too High (2010)" features clever, hyper-local references to Mobile and even includes shout-outs to old friends, creating a deeply personal yet universally relatable narrative.
"...And What Was Left Behind" is positioned as a companion piece to their 2024 album "The Coastal Plain," continuing to explore themes inspired by their southern, coastal Alabama roots. The album, produced by Stanton, Muncaster, and Ryan Youmans (known for his work with Jelly Roll), promises to deliver a refined and more adventurous version of their sound.
In addition to "Way Too High (2010)," the duo has previously released two other tracks from the upcoming album: "Ain't For Sale" featuring Josh Meloy, and "Chickasaw Church of Christ." These releases have garnered praise from critics, with All Country News commending Muscadine Bloodline as "two of country's finest modern storytellers".
Muscadine Bloodline's musical journey began in Mobile, Alabama, where Muncaster and Stanton grew up separately before crossing paths in the local music scene in the early 2010s. They officially formed the duo in 2015 and have since released four full-length albums, including 2023's "Teenage Dixie." Their 2016 single "Porch Swing Angel" has achieved platinum certification and amassed over 125M streams on Spotify.
The duo's rise in the country music scene has been marked by significant milestones, including their Grand Ole Opry debut in 2018, sold-out headline shows across the country, and collaborations with artists such as Post Malone, Eric Church, and Cody Johnson. Recently, they've experienced a breakthrough in country radio with their single "10-90," which is currently climbing the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
As Muscadine Bloodline continues to evolve their sound and expand their fanbase, they remain committed to their independent spirit and authentic storytelling. With "...And What Was Left Behind" on the horizon and a busy tour schedule ahead, including supporting Lainey Wilson on her "Whirlwind World Tour" this fall, 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for the Alabama-born duo.
