Midland Releases Deluxe Duet Version of 'Vegas' Featuring Kaitlin Butts Amidst Thriving Tour

Midland has released a deluxe version of their track "Vegas" as part of the expanded edition of their album Barely Blue, which dropped on October 18, 2024. The new version features a duet with Kaitlin Butts, adding a fresh dimension to the original song produced by 9 times GRAMMY winner Dave Cobb.

"Vegas" pays tribute to Sin City, reimagining its famous slogan into a poignant tale of fleeting but genuine romance. The track explores the intense connections and losses often associated with Las Vegas, while sonically drawing inspiration from early George Strait classics penned by Dean Dillon. Mark Wystrach of Midland described the duet version as "sonically like a tip of the cowboy hat to early George Strait classics."

The release of "Vegas - Deluxe Version" coincides with Midland's ongoing The Get Lucky Tour, which kicked off on September 19, 2024, in Cincinnati, OH. Upcoming tour dates include performances at The Union Event Center in Salt Lake City on October 24, Toyota Center in Kennewick on October 26, and Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio on November 2. The tour will continue through December, with shows in Houston, Irving, Las Vegas, Rio Rancho, and Austin.

Various supporting acts are joining Midland on tour, including Tanya Tucker, Solin Stough, Colby Acuff, Elvie Shane, Jackson Dean, and The Wilder Blue, with lineups varying by venue.

The album Barely Blue has garnered positive critical reception. Rolling Stone described it as "signature Midland: silky-smooth George Strait country gold coupled with seamless vocal harmonies influenced by the Eagles," while Wide Open Country hailed it as "their best album to date."

Midland, comprising Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy, and Jess Carson, has been instrumental in reviving Western plains, Laurel Canyon-cum-Bakersfield, and Lone Star juke joint sounds in country music. Their critically acclaimed albums and hits like "Drinkin' Problem" have established them as sought-after headliners in the country music scene.
