Mary Kutter Teams Up with Project Pat for New Country Single "God Made a Farmer"

Country singer-songwriter Mary Kutter has released her latest single "God Made a Farmer" on January 24, 2025, featuring a collaboration with rapper Project Pat. This release marks a new musical direction for Kutter, blending her country roots with hip-hop influences.

"God Made a Farmer" is not the only new music from Kutter in recent months. She also released a single titled "Go to Town" on January 1, 2025. In a video discussing this release, Kutter explained that she wrote the song for "all my country girls who like to party it up at The Honky Tonks but can also throw it down way out in the Sticks".

Kutter, who hails from Kentucky, grew up on a farm near Bardstown, where her family raised cattle and even kept llamas. This agricultural background likely influenced the theme of her new single, which pays tribute to the hardworking farmers of America. The song's lyrics draw inspiration from Kutter's upbringing and the stories she heard about local farmers, including tales of the "Cornbread Mafia" - ordinary farmers trying to make ends meet.

Prior to this release, Kutter had been making waves in the Nashville music scene. She has written songs that have accumulated over 100 million streams, including the Sirius XM Highway #1 hit "Never Leave" by Bailey Zimmerman and "Wreckage" by Nate Smith. Her songwriting credits span across country, sync, and pop genres, with more than 60 songs recorded by various artists.

Kutter's journey to Nashville was unconventional. She began her career hosting a weekly TV/Radio music variety show near Louisville, Kentucky. This experience led her to meet Nashville songwriters, eventually prompting her move to Music City. In Nashville, she quickly established herself by hosting writers' nights, including a weekly show called "OMG! I'm a Songwriter" at Tin Roof Demonbreun.

As an artist, Kutter's music is described as a melting pot of country, pop, and R&B influences. Her previous releases include singles like "Devil's Money," which tells the story of her great-grandfather who was a bootlegger. This song, released as a single and part of an EP in 2024, showcases Kutter's storytelling abilities and her connection to her family history.

With her latest release "God Made a Farmer," Kutter continues to demonstrate her versatility as an artist and her ability to draw from her rural roots while exploring new musical territories. The collaboration with Project Pat represents a bold step in her artistic evolution, potentially opening up her music to a broader audience.
