Maddie & Tae Release Playful New Country Single "Kissing Cowboys"
Maddie & Tae, the award-winning country music duo, have released their vibrant new single, "Kissing Cowboys," on February 21, 2025. This new track delivers a spirited blend of flirtatious energy and authentic country charm, perfectly embodying the duo's signature style.
The song showcases the pair's unique ability to tell authentically relatable stories, with the chorus giving a nod-and-wink to female empowerment "Paint your lips and you shoot one back / If you break his heart, do it on his tab" and "There just might be a John Wayne hidin' in the here and now boys / So, keep on kissing cowboys."
Maddie & Tae's musical background is rich with accomplishments. Their debut single, "Girl in a Country Song," released in 2014, became a sensation, reaching number one on the Country Airplay chart and making them the first female duo in over 70 years to achieve this feat. Their debut album, "Start Here," released in 2015, spent 40 weeks on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and reached number two.
This release follows their 2024 EP "What A Woman Can Do," which was praised by American Songwriter for it's significance in "their growth as artists and women." They have also worked collaboratively with Jake Scott on single "Rather Be Us," in addition to star-studded release "Gonna Be You" alongside Jessie James Decker, Callie Twisselman and country music legend, Dolly Parton.
The duo has continued to evolve their sound and storytelling since their breakout hit took the airwaves by storm. Their second studio album, "The Way It Feels," was released in 2020 and included the double-platinum hit "Die From A Broken Heart". They've also released several EPs, including "Through the Madness, Vol. 1" and "Vol. 2" in 2022.
In addition to "Kissing Cowboys," Maddie & Tae are preparing for their upcoming "Love & Light Tour" in Spring 2025, which will see them perform in five major venues across the United States:
April 10 – New York, NY – Irving Plaza
April 25 – Chicago, IL – Joe’s Live
May 1 – Nashville, TN – Ryman Auditorium
May 9 – Denver, CO – Ogden Theatre
May 15 – Los Angeles, CA – El Rey Theatre
Throughout their career, Maddie & Tae have been recognized for their talents, receiving awards from various country music institutions, including a nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year at the 58th CMA Awards, highlighting their continued impact on the country music scene. The dynamic duo have also shared stages with some of country music’s biggest names including Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, and Brad Paisley.
