LOCASH Releases Latest Single "When I'm Older"
LOCASH, the country music duo consisting of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas, has released their latest single, "When I'm Older," on February 14, 2025. The new track showcases LOCASH's signature blend of heartfelt lyrics and contemporary country sound.
Co-written by Brust and Lucas alongside Seth Ennis and Matt Alderman, "When I'm Older" is a romantic ballad that reflects on enduring love and commitment. When speaking about the track, Lucas reflects “I feel this song is one of the most intimate and greatest songs we have written as Locash.... My wife’s grandparents have been married over 60 years. And to this day he still picks a flower for her every morning. We all dream about a love like that.”
LOCASH's musical journey began in 2008 when they formed in Nashville, Tennessee. Initially known as LoCash Cowboys, they signed with R&J Records and released their first single, "Here Comes Summer," in 2010. The duo has since evolved, shortening their name to LOCASH and achieving significant success in the country music scene.
Throughout their career, LOCASH has released four studio albums and two extended plays. Their breakthrough came with the platinum-certified single "I Love This Life" in 2015, followed by their first number-one hit on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, "I Know Somebody," in 2016. The duo has consistently delivered chart-topping hits, including the gold-certified "One Big Country Song".
In addition to "When I'm Older," LOCASH has been making waves with their recent single "Hometown Home," which has broken into the Top 10 on country radio, reaching No. 7. This marks their fourth entry into country radio's upper echelon, following their previous successes.
LOCASH's influence extends beyond their own recordings. The duo has co-written hits for other country stars, including Keith Urban's number-one single "You Gonna Fly" and Tim McGraw's "Truck Yeah". This songwriting prowess demonstrates their versatility and deep understanding of the country music genre.
The band's recent collaborations have also garnered attention, including "Let It Slide" featuring Leslie Jordan and Blanco Brown, and "Beach Boys" featuring Mike Love and Bruce Johnston of The Beach Boys. These diverse partnerships showcase LOCASH's ability to blend their country roots with other musical styles.
As LOCASH continues to evolve, they are preparing for the release of a new album in the spring of 2025. With their track record of success, the duo is poised to further cement their place in the country music landscape.
