Lanie Gardner Starts 2025 Strong with Release of New Track "Buzzkill"

Lanie Gardner, a rising country music star, released her latest single "Buzzkill" on January 17, 2025, not 2024 as initially stated. This fiery new track showcases Gardner's sharp songwriting and unapologetic attitude, cementing her reputation for delivering raw, relatable, and empowering country music.

"Buzzkill" is part of Gardner's highly anticipated sophomore album, set to arrive later in 2025. The song, already a fan favorite during her live shows, addresses the theme of dealing with troublemakers and "mean girls" in social circles. Gardner explains, "I wrote this song about a friend who had a habit of bringing around the textbook 'mean girls,' the ones you could see coming from a mile away. They always had bad intentions".

Born on July 18, 1999, in Burnsville, North Carolina, Gardner's musical journey began at the tender age of four. She honed her craft over the years, turning her bedroom closet into a recording studio at 15. Gardner's breakthrough came in October 2020 when her cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" went viral, amassing over 55 million views.

Following her viral success, Gardner signed with Jonas Group Entertainment and secured a record deal with Republic Records. She has since collaborated with notable artists such as David Guetta and Morten. In October 2024, Gardner released her debut album "A Songwriter's Diary" via BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. This 10-track collection, entirely penned by Gardner, offers a deeply personal glimpse into her journey as an artist.

As she heads into 2025, Gardner is gearing up for an exciting year. She will be joining Corey Kent on his Black Bandana Tour and making her Stagecoach debut alongside headliners Jelly Roll, Zach Bryan, and Luke Combs. Gardner has been recognized by the Recording Academy as one of 2025's Top 25 Artists to Watch and is part of Absolute Radio Country's Class of 2025.

Gardner's musical style blends timeless country roots with a bold rock edge. Her journey from the mountains of North Carolina to international stages showcases her exceptional talent and determination[5]. Inspired by her late grandfather's love for music, she has evolved from a gifted storyteller to a celebrated artist, captivating audiences with her unique voice and captivating stage presence.
