Jordan Davis Releases Latest Single "In Case You Missed It"
Jordan Davis, the award-winning country music singer-songwriter from Louisiana, has released his latest single, "In Case You Missed It," on February 7, 2025. This track is the latest in new music from the artist, and while not confirmed, is expected to feature on his yet-to-be-announced new album, following on from his platinum-selling 2023 album, "Bluebird Days" which featured four consecutive No. 1 singles.
"In Case You Missed It" showcases Davis' signature sound, blending elements of country, rock, pop, and R&B. The song, co-written by Davis, his brother Jacob Davis, Paul DiGiovanni, and Travis Wood, tells a nostalgic story of sharing hometown changes with a former love, and hinting at unchanged feelings: “They paved that cut through street that I take to your house/ Boarded up BP, yeah, it’s a Chevron now/ That parish bridge that was always out/ They finally fixed it, in case you missed it.” The production, helmed by Paul DiGiovanni, incorporates both traditional country instruments like acoustic guitar and banjo with modern elements such as 808 drum beats and rock-leaning electric guitar.
Davis' musical journey began in his hometown of Shreveport, where he grew up in a family steeped in music. His uncle, Stan Paul Davis, wrote hit singles for Tracy Lawrence in the 1990s, which likely influenced Jordan's early interest in songwriting. After graduating from Louisiana State University in 2012, Davis moved to Nashville to pursue his music career.
Since signing with Universal Music Group Nashville in 2016, Davis has consistently delivered chart-topping hits. His debut album, "Home State," released in 2018, produced three number-one singles: "Singles You Up," "Take It From Me," and "Slow Dance in a Parking Lot". The success continued with his 2023 album "Bluebird Days," which featured four consecutive number-one singles, including the multi-platinum hit "Buy Dirt," a duet with Luke Bryan.
In addition to "In Case You Missed It," Davis has recently released other new tracks, including "Good News Sold," "Know You Like That," and "I Ain't Sayin'". The latter has achieved significant success, spending eight weeks at number one on the UK country radio airplay charts.
Davis' musical style is often described as a blend of contemporary country with influences from classic singer-songwriters. He cites artists like John Prine, Jim Croce, and Bob McDill as inspirations for his lyrical approach, while his production style draws from modern country acts such as Eric Church, Sam Hunt, and Lady Antebellum.
