Frankie Ballard Releases New Country Track "Cussin' In My Prayers"

Country music artist Frankie Ballard has released his latest single "Cussin' In My Prayers" on January 17, 2025. This new track showcases Ballard's signature blend of country, gospel, blues, and rock 'n' roll influences.
In addition to "Cussin' In My Prayers," Ballard recently released the EP "Dirty Church Clothes" in late 2024, featuring the single of the same name, along with two other tracks, "Freight Train of Trouble" and "Fenceless Freedom."
Frankie Ballard, born Frank Robert Ballard IV on December 16, 1982, hails from Battle Creek, Michigan. He began his musical journey at a young age, singing Elvis Presley songs with his father when he was just five years old. Ballard's love for music grew alongside his passion for sports, particularly baseball, which he played at Western Michigan University.
Ballard's career in country music took off after winning Kenny Chesney's Next Big Star competition for Michigan in 2008. This victory led to opportunities to open shows for Chesney and eventually secured him a record deal with Reprise Records Nashville in 2010. His self-titled debut album, released in 2011, featured two Top 30 singles, "Tell Me You Get Lonely" and "A Buncha Girls".
Throughout his career, Ballard has released several successful albums, including "Sunshine & Whiskey" in 2014, which produced three number-one singles on the Billboard Country Airplay chart: "Helluva Life," "Sunshine & Whiskey," and "Young & Crazy". His 2016 album "El Rio" further solidified his position in the country music scene, reaching number 9 on the Country chart.
Ballard's musical style is characterized by his gritty vocal approach and considerable guitar skills. He cites diverse influences ranging from Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash to Bob Seger and Howlin' Wolf, which contribute to his unique sound that bridges traditional country with rock elements.
As a songwriter, Ballard has also contributed to other artists' work, co-writing "I Came to Git Down" for Big & Rich's 2014 album "Gravity". His dedication to his craft extends beyond recording, as he is known for his energetic live performances and extensive touring schedule.
