Faith Hopkins Unveils Coming-of-Age Anthem "Am I The Only One?"
Faith Hopkins, a rising country-pop singer-songwriter, has released her new track "Am I The Only One?" on January 17, 2025. This coming-of-age anthem explores the universal struggle with the passage of time and the bittersweet journey of growing up.
This latest track follows previous releases in 2024, including "Making Me" and her debut single, "Oops (There Goes My Heart)," which was released in August 2024. The latter, co-written with Kyle Clark and Dylan Brady, tells the story of serendipitously meeting someone at a bar during what was intended to be a girls' night out.
"Am I The Only One?" represents Hopkins' growth as an artist and songwriter. She shared insights about the song's creation, stating, "The idea for 'Am I the Only One?' came after my 21st birthday, a milestone that made me question, 'What the heck is next?'". The song was written just eight days after her 21st birthday, capturing the complexities of growing up – the joy, the sadness, and the inevitable realization that time moves on.
Born and raised in Huntington Beach, California, Hopkins developed her passion for music at a young age. She honed her skills through the Academy of Performing Arts high school program, where she actively participated in singing and performance. Her musical influences span across various genres, drawing inspiration from artists like Kelsea Ballerini, Sabrina Carpenter, Nora Jones, Sara Bareilles, Lennon Stella, and Sasha Sloan.
Hopkins' journey in the music industry gained significant momentum in 2024. In August of that year, she signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and Play It Again Music, marking a pivotal moment in her career.
Hopkins' musical style is often described as a blend of pop and country. Her songwriting is praised for its honesty and relatability, with Dallas Davidson noting, "When you hear a Faith Hopkins song and listen to the lyrics, you know that it comes from a real place and relates to real people".
With her recent signings and new releases, Faith Hopkins is positioning herself as an artist to watch in the country-pop scene. Her journey from adding "Play It Again Music" on her prayer list in 2020 to signing with the company in 2024 showcases her determination and the rapid progression of her career.
