Eli Young Band Unveils "Nothing On The Wild" as Title Track From New EP

Eli Young Band, the Texas-born country music group, has unveiled their latest musical offering, "Nothing On The Wild," released in February, 2025. The track, which features as the title track of their new EP, exemplifies the band's masterful ability to blend compelling narratives with infectious melodies, reinforcing their distinctive position in contemporary country music.

"Nothing On The Wild," written by Mike Eli, Matt McVaney, and Matt Rogers, follows previously released singles "What Do Lonely People Do," "I'm Yours Amen" and "Home In Hometown," with all 4 tracks featuring on the band's new EP. This latest song explores themes of youthful exuberance and enduring love, with Eli explaining, "This song was me telling my wife, Kacey, that the wild and crazy has nothing on the wild and crazy that I am about her".

Formed in 2000 while attending the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, Eli Young Band consists of Mike Eli (lead vocals, guitar), James Young (guitar), Jon Jones (bass guitar), and Chris Thompson (drums)1. Over their two-decade career, the band has consistently delivered chart-topping hits and garnered critical acclaim, earning multiple GRAMMY, CMA, CMT, ACM, ACA, and Teen Choice Award nominations.

The band's musical journey began with their self-titled debut album in 2002, followed by "Level" in 2005. Their breakthrough came with the 2008 album "Jet Black & Jealous," which spawned hits like "When It Rains" and "Always the Love Songs". The band's sound has evolved over the years, blending influences from blues, rock, and country, with Eli citing inspirations ranging from Rodney Crowell and Paul Simon to guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Perry.

Eli Young Band's discography boasts impressive achievements, including four No. 1 hits: "Crazy Girl," "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," "Drunk Last Night," and "Love Ain't". Their album "Life at Best" has been certified Platinum, while singles like "Crazy Girl" and "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" have reached multi-Platinum status.

In recent years, the band has embraced independence, allowing them greater creative freedom in their music releases. This new phase in their career has seen them return to their roots, both literally and figuratively, as they recorded their latest music at Panhandle House Studio in their hometown of Denton, Texas.

As they continue to evolve musically, Eli Young Band remains committed to their Texas roots and their fans. Their relentless touring schedule, with dates set through July 2025, showcases their dedication to live performances and connecting with audiences across North America.

With their "Nothing On The Wild" EP, Eli Young Band continues to demonstrate why they've been celebrated by the Associated Press as "a smart, relevant antidote" to overdone clichés in country music. Their ability to craft songs that resonate with listeners while staying true to their musical roots ensures their enduring relevance in the ever-changing landscape of country music.
