Dwight Yoakam Unveils New Track "I'll Pay The Price" Ahead of Upcoming Album "Brighter Days"

Dwight Yoakam has released "I'll Pay The Price," a new track from his upcoming album "Brighter Days," set to debut on November 15, 2024. This release marks Yoakam's return to original material after nearly a decade, following his 2016 project "Swimmin' Pools, Movie Stars…"

"I'll Pay The Price" was written by Yoakam in collaboration with Jeffrey Steele. The song's lyrics reflect on a former flame, with Yoakam expressing his willingness to pay any price to rekindle the relationship. The production maintains Yoakam's classic Bakersfield sound, blending traditional country with rock influences.

Yoakam self-produced "Brighter Days," with the songs recorded and refined over the past three years. Renowned engineer Chris Lord-Alge handled the mixing duties for the album.

To support the release of "Brighter Days," Yoakam has announced a tour, with the specific dates and locations available on his website.

Yoakam, a 21-time Grammy nominee, has been a prominent figure in country music since the 1980s. Known for his association with the "L.A. Cowpunk Scene," he has consistently blended traditional country with rock elements throughout his career. His last original album, "Second Hand Heart," was released in 2015.
