Dwight Yoakam has released track "California Sky," alongside his new album "Brighter Days," which dropped on November 15, 2024. This song is part of Yoakam's first album of new music in nine years, following his 2015 release "Second Hand Heart" and a 2016 bluegrass covers record "Swimmin' Pools, Movie Stars..."

"California Sky" was written by Dwight Yoakam and Jeffrey Steele. The entire "Brighter Days" album was self-produced by Yoakam, showcasing his continued involvement in the creative process. The album as a whole is noted for blending country music's history with the rock-and-roll spirit of California.
