Drew Green Releases Latest Track "Heard About Me"
Drew Green, the country singer-songwriter from Tennessee, has released his latest single "Heard About Me" through RECORDS Nashville and Columbia Records on February 14, 20253. This new song offers a poignant examination of small-town dynamics, exploring how rumors and gossip can shape perceptions.
The song's protagonist grapples with the challenge of being defined by past actions rather than present growth. Green's lyrics capture this struggle with lines like "I don't know what you heard about me / But I know how word gets round / You've been digging some dirt on me / But no, baby, that ain't who I am now".
Green's musical journey began in his hometown, where he grew up listening to a diverse range of artists, including country legends Alan Jackson and Sammy Kershaw, as well as hip-hop icons like Dr. Dre. This eclectic mix of influences has shaped Green's unique sound, which seamlessly blends country storytelling with elements of pop and R&B.
Before launching his career as a recording artist, Green established himself as a successful songwriter in Nashville. He co-wrote Florida Georgia Line's "Colorado" with Hardy and Hunter Phelps, which appeared on their 2019 album "Can't Say I Ain't Country". This breakthrough led to a publishing deal and eventually caught the attention of Sony Music Nashville, who signed him as a recording artist in June 20201.
Since then, Green has been steadily building his discography. His debut EP, "Dirt Boy Vol. 1," was released in September 2020, followed by "Dirt Boy Vol. 2" in October 2021. Green has also released several singles, including "Little More Be Alright," "Good Ol' Man," and "Lotta Bit of You,"
Green's recent success includes his independently released single "Lotta Bit of You," which has amassed close to 28M streams on Spotify alone. This achievement led to his signing with RECORDS Nashville in July 2024, marking a new chapter in his career.
