Dalton Dover Explores Loves Transformative Journey in New Single "Ain't It Easy"

Dalton Dover, the rising country music star from Georgia, has released his latest single "Ain't It Easy" on January 10, 2025, through UMG Nashville/Mercury Records/Universal Music Canada. This new track showcases Dover's evolution as a songwriter and performer in the country music scene.

"Ain't It Easy" is a heartfelt country ballad that explores the journey of finding true love. Dover describes the song as "about how hard it is finding your person, but when you do find them everything that seemed hard all of a sudden seems so easy". The track was co-written by Dover alongside Matthew McVaney, Matt McGinn, and Alex Maxwell, and produced by his longtime collaborator Matt McVaney (McV).

The song's lyrics delve into past relationships and the realization that all the wrong ones led to the right person. Dover sings about a "17th summer" love and a two-year relationship in Athens that didn't work out, ultimately leading to the discovery of his true love.

Dover's musical journey began at a young age in his hometown. He first started singing in church as a child and won his fifth-grade school talent show performing Justin Bieber's "Baby". His early influences include Keith Whitley, Conway Twitty, and Merle Haggard, introduced to him by his grandfather.

In 2019, Dover appeared on Season 16 of The Voice, where he auditioned with Keith Whitley's "Don't Close Your Eyes". This experience helped him find his voice and solidify his desire to pursue a career in country music.

Dover has been prolific in his releases, with "Ain't It Easy" following his 2024 singles "Here's The Deal" and "Bury Me In This Bar". His debut EP "Never Giving Up On That" was released in September 2023, featuring eight tracks including "Dirt Roads and Jesus," "Giving Up On That" (the first official single from the album) and a cover of Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You".
