Colt Graves Releases New Single "You Know Me"
Colt Graves, a rising country music artist signed to UMG Nashville in partnership with Timbaland's Mosley Music, released his latest single "You Know Me" on December 13, 2024. The track, co-written by Graves alongside Jordan Centers, Everett Alan Richeson, and Michael Warren Lisenby, was produced by Jake Parshall. "You Know Me" delves into themes of personal growth and self-reflection, exploring the complexities of relationships and redemption.
Graves describes the song as an honest portrayal of self-discovery, saying, "'You Know Me' is about personal growth and acknowledging your errors through self-discovery in an honest way. It’s sensitive subject matter for sure, but it really shows the complete other side that’s not normally talked about." The lyrics paint a vivid picture of vulnerability and accountability, with lines like:
"I’ve tried to change but I can’t // Not all sinners wanna be saints // Yeah, the tables turned, yeah it burns // But I don’t learn from my mistakes."
The release of "You Know Me" follows a string of successful singles from Graves throughout 2024, including "Burning House," which debuted under UMG Nashville in October as his first release with the label. Another notable track this year was "Dirt on Me," an anthem of resilience that climbed to #3 on Amazon's Country Music Chart and earned widespread praise for its fusion of country storytelling with pop-rock energy.
Hailing from Owensboro, Kentucky, Graves carries a deep musical legacy as the grandson of Bluegrass Hall of Fame member Josh Graves. His upbringing in the bluegrass heartland laid the foundation for his unique sound—a blend of country, folk, hip-hop, and rock influences. Before launching his solo career in 2021, Graves experimented across genres in various bands and even pursued rap during his time living in Nashville. This diverse background has shaped his genre-defying style and ability to connect with audiences through emotionally resonant narratives.
