Cole Phillips Releases Latest Single "Junk Drawer"

Cole Phillips, the 18-year-old country singer-songwriter from Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, has released his latest single "Junk Drawer" through Records Label, LLC / Columbia on February 21, 2025. This release follows his breakthrough success with the song "Drinking Alone," which garnered millions of views on TikTok and amassed 7M streams across digital platforms in 2023.

Prior to "Junk Drawer," Phillips released his debut album "No Town, Oklahoma" in 2024, which included tracks like "Dark Daze Blues," "Fade," and "Stoned in Bridge Creek". These releases have helped establish Phillips as a promising voice in country music, known for his gritty vocals and heartfelt lyrics that often reflect his small-town upbringing.

Phillips' musical journey began in his small Oklahoma community, where he was exposed to a diverse range of influences. Growing up as the oldest of eight children, he discovered artists like Hank Williams Jr., David Allan Coe, Dierks Bentley, and Zac Brown Band through his parents. His musical tastes later expanded to include rock acts such as Metallica, Nirvana, and AC/DC, as well as red dirt country artists like Zach Bryan and Cody Jinks.

The young artist's path to music was unconventional. He picked up the guitar in high school, initially learning Zac Brown songs. His breakthrough came unexpectedly when he wrote "Drinking Alone" in the aftermath of a night of drinking, a song that would later become his class anthem and catapult him to wider recognition.

"Junk Drawer," Phillips' latest offering, showcases his evolving artistry and has been recognized by its inclusion in prominent streaming playlists. The song, co-written by Autumn Marie Buysse, Troy Cartwright, and Ben Van Wraath, alongside Phillips himself, continues to demonstrate his knack for relatable, personal storytelling.

Phillips' rise in the country music scene has been marked by significant industry recognition. In January 2024, he signed management representation and record deals with Why&How and Records Nashville, respectively. Bruce Kalmick, Founder & CEO of Why&How, praised Phillips' ability to capture emotion and storytelling beyond his years, while Josh Easler, EVP of Promotion & Commercial Strategy at Records Nashville, described Phillips as "the real deal" whose music is "authentic and honest".

As Cole Phillips continues to make his mark in country music, his journey from a small Oklahoma community to national recognition serves as a testament to his talent and the power of authentic storytelling in music.
