Carter Faith Releases Poignant New Single "If I Had Never Lost My Mind..."
Carter Faith, a rising star in country music, has unveiled her latest single, "If I Had Never Lost My Mind...", through UMG Nashville on February 21, 2025. The track showcases Faith's signature storytelling abilities and further establishes her distinctive voice in contemporary country music.
"If I Had Never Lost My Mind..." is a poignant exploration of self-reflection and emotional turmoil. Faith describes the song as "about the stories we tell ourselves in times of messiness," adding “Whether it’s love lost or not, I can drive myself crazy remembering the pain and ruminating on the ‘what-if’s." The track was debuted live at the legendary Ryman Auditorium, marking a significant milestone in Faith's career.
Born in Davidson, North Carolina, Faith's journey to country music stardom began with her grandfather's country music cassette tapes. Despite growing up in a non-musical family, she taught herself piano and guitar, eventually relocating to Nashville after college to pursue her dream of becoming a country musician.
This new release follows Faith's official Capitol Records Nashville debut with "The Aftermath" EP in late 2024. The EP garnered critical acclaim, with Billboard praising Faith's vocals for their "fragility with a smoky resonance". It included tracks such as "The Aftermath," "Alright," and "Blue Bird" featuring Alison Krauss.
Faith's musical journey has been marked by impressive achievements. She has accumulated over 117 million global streams on tracks like "Wild," "Greener Pasture," and "Already Crazy". Her authentic storytelling and soaring vocals have led to performances alongside industry giants such as Little Big Town, Keith Urban, and Willie Nelson.
In addition to her recording success, Faith has been making waves in the live music scene. She is currently supporting Ella Langley on a U.S. tour and is set to make her Australia debut at the CMC Rocks Festival in March 2025. Following this, she will join Carly Pearce on tour in April.
Faith's musical background is diverse, drawing inspiration from artists like Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, and Fleetwood Mac. This eclectic mix of influences contributes to her unique sound, which has been described as "cowgirl hippie kinda trippy".
