Canaan Cox, the Nashville-based country music singer-songwriter, has released his latest single, "This Town's Yours," on February 14, 2025. This emotionally charged track delves into the complex journey of leaving a hometown after a relationship ends.
"This Town's Yours" is not just about a broken relationship; it explores the deeper implications of small-town life and the decision to leave familiar surroundings. Cox, who hails from North Carolina, brings a unique musical perspective to his work, influenced by his upbringing in a musical household where his father played Conway Twitty records and his mother toured with her band. This diverse musical background, combined with his BFA in Musical Theatre from Catawba College, has shaped Cox into a versatile artist who seamlessly fuses contemporary country, pop, and a hint of rhythm and blues.
This latest track was a labor of love for Cox, who wrote it three years ago and rewrote it multiple times before finalizing it with co-writers Nick Wayne and Sean Cook. His sophomore album "Let It Run" which dropped in April, 2024, preceded singles "Just Kids" and "Something To Me," in addition to holiday track "Holly Jolly Christmas," also released during 2024.

In 2021, a chance encounter with radio and television personality Bobby Bones led to an appearance on Bones' show, reaching over 9.2 million listeners. This exposure catalyzed Cox's career, with his single "As You Leave" receiving critical acclaim and featured on major playlists across streaming platforms.
